Although, it is questionable that they would be able to help over 9,500 clients in only three years. 

Timeshare Freedom Group operates on an “easy and painless” 4-step program to assist their clients in the timeshare exit process. They don’t include much detail on their site about what this process is. 

In general, the process they list is as follows: 

• The client is assigned an account manager and give paperwork to fill out. 
• The paperwork is the filed and processed. 
• They claim that, after this, the timeshare is simply cancelled. 

According to the company’s alleged reviews, the company only takes on clients if they know that they can assist them. They claim to not take on clients when they feel they cannot complete the service. 

Many timeshare exit companies take on clients regardless of the situation, so it is a good sign that Timeshare Freedom Group does not do that. Timeshare exit companies that take on every single client are, more often than not, fraudulent. It can also result in a lot of refunds and unhappy reviews. 

Timeshare Freedom Group Timeframe 

The FAQ page on the Timeshare Freedom Group website states that the process can take 9-12 months. However, they responded to a potential client on Trustpilot stating that it takes 9-18 months. This does raise suspicion, as they seem unclear of their own guidelines. 

In addition to the new claim that the process takes 9-18 months, Timeshare Freedom Group has made some other claims on Trustpilot. They stated that Occidental, a timeshare resort, generally bars all timeshares purchased on the secondary market. 

This is a false claim. When somebody purchases a timeshare, it is their property. In a lot of cases, a resort will not purchase a timeshare back from a client. However, a timeshare owner can absolutely sell to a third party buyer. This means that, legally, a timeshare company cannot “bar” a sale.

Timeshare Freedom Group fails to clarify if they charge an upfront fee for their services.

This company does, however, mention a 100% money-back guarantee on their site. This typically means they do expect an upfront fee from their clients. 

On the FAQ page, the company states their policy is clients get their money back if the company fails to cancel their timeshare within 24 months. This is somewhat of a comfort, but it would still take two years to get your money back. When it comes to these unregulated exit groups, a lot can happen in a few years. 

For example, the company could go out of business, leaving you with a slim chance of getting your money back. In the same vein, the timeshare exit company could get sued by the resort, resulting in the same outcome.

Timeshare Freedom Group Lawsuit 

On September 10th, 2020, the vacation company “Diamond Resorts” filed a lawsuit against several timeshare exit groups. Timeshare Freedom Group was one of the timeshare exit companies named in this lawsuit. 

Diamond Resort’s claim is that the defendants used false advertising and misleading information with timeshare owners. Through this, they convinced timeshare owners to stop making payments on their timeshares throughout the cancellation process. During the cancellation process, the 13 defendants named in the lawsuit were still charging their clients tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for a service. Due to the lack of regulation with timeshare cancellation groups, the cancellation service may or may not be provided. This is illegal, but Diamond Resorts pointed out how all 13 defendants portrayed their exit services as a “legal solution”. 

As a result of the lawsuit this year, a ring of timeshare cancellation groups that all work in conjunction with each other was exposed. 

Due to Timeshare Freedom Group’s involvement in this lawsuit, we are unable to safely say that timeshare owners can trust them with the cancellation of their timeshares.
