Timeshare ownership, often marketed as a dream vacation investment, can sometimes turn into a financial burden for many. Escaping these contracts can be challenging due to their complex and binding nature. This has led to the rise of timeshare exit companies, which specialize in helping owners exit their timeshare agreements. One such company is Legal Advocate For The Consumer (LAFTC), a South Carolina-based division of Timeshare Timeout (TSTO). In this article, we will review LAFTC, its services, customer experiences, and overall effectiveness in helping clients achieve a successful timeshare exit.

━ Customer Experience
Customer feedback is a vital indicator of a company’s performance and effectiveness. However, the online presence of LAFTC is limited, and there is a notable lack of customer reviews available. *******We were told last year we had all of our contracts cancelled for Time shares. We were to receive a settlement of $319,345.90 on August 31, 2021. I keep contacting Jan B**** at Timeshare Timeout and she keeps telling us we are finished and everything will be finalized tomorrow, or next week, and NOTHING is getting done to finish this up. We are in Debt having to send them money to cancel our time shares and we need our money as soon as possible. This has gone on way to long and we are getting put off and put off and put off, This was suppose to be a GROUP effort and don’t know if the others in the GROUP have been paid. ****** has a credit card debt thru ******* Credit that was support to be removed by LAFTC over a year ago and he keeps getting statements from them saying he owes $16,615.84 on November 22, 2022.. I sent this to Jan B**** asking why this has not been taken care of and We get NO ANSWERS. the rest of the credit card balances were removed and this one is still NOT TAKEN Care of. I can send documents if you need me to. we just need SOMETHING done and for them TO NEVER scam people again. We can not get credit due to this bad debt and this has ruined out credit history and credit score.
Additionally, it is important to note that LAFTC is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). While BBB accreditation is not a mandatory requirement for timeshare exit companies, it can be an indicator of the company’s commitment to transparency and customer service standards. The lack of accreditation may be a point of consideration for potential clients.
━ Effectiveness and Results
Evaluating the effectiveness of a timeshare exit company requires examining their track record and the outcomes they achieve for their clients. LAFTC‘s legal-centric approach appears to be effective, with a number of clients successfully exiting their timeshare agreements according to their website. The company’s ability to negotiate favorable terms and utilize legal channels contributes to their overall success rate.

On 8/22/19, I contracted with above company to terminate a timeshare contract with Capital Vacations. I worked directly with ******* “****” ********. He did tell me that it may take months, because he used to work for capital Vacations and knew they were difficult to comply. Because the timeshare was approx 30 years old, there were many deeds (he said 5) and each deed was $5000 to process. I sent $ to his company and zelle to him directly. For these 3 years, he was believable and asked that I only speak with him. for the last year, he has been unavailable and I was told by *****************, that he no longer works there. I have never received any statements for any documents to support my “investment” of $30,000. phone numbers I have are *****************-635-2002ext100, ****************-561-8755,866-490-4535. ************ is the personal phone # for Chip when I sent $4,999 Zelle. Their current website is:LAFTC TSTO Chip told me (some time back) that he was not afraid of being sued because he had been sued in the past. Any contact I have with “them” is Jan@timesharetimeout..Office phone:*******************.
Moreover, LAFTC‘s focus on legal advocacy ensures that their methods are not only effective but also ethical and compliant with industry standards. This legal foundation provides clients with a sense of security, knowing that their exit is being handled in a lawful and professional manner.
